A regular videoconference meeting of the Interdepartmental Center Energy Supply Working Group, operating under the umbrella of the coordination headquarters, established as part of the centralized solution of the problems in the Azerbaijani territories freed from Armenian occupation [in the 2020 Second Karabakh War], took place, Trend reports on October 30.
At the meeting, information was provided on the results of the latest follow-up of the work carried out to provide heat to the main buildings and facilities in Shusha city, and discussions were held on ensuring the quality and sustainability of energy supply.
The current state of work on the construction of thermal boilers was considered, activities related to the transport and installation of the necessary equipment and materials were brought to the attention of the participants. It was noted that the boiler rooms will be fully ready for the heating season in November.
As part of the creation of a “green energy” zone in the liberated territories, a presentation was made on the design of the relevant concept, prepared with the participation of a specialized international consulting company, detailed information on the concept have been provided and answers to questions have been given.
It was noted that the energy supply of Karabakh and eastern Zangezur envisages the maximum use of renewable energy sources and the use of environmentally friendly, energy efficient, modern and innovative technologies at stages the creation of the energy value chain.
Furthermore, it was pointed out that, within the framework of the above concept, an analysis of three scenarios was carried out in order to determine the optimal scenario of energy demand and supply.
Information was also provided on the measures taken in the liberated territories concerning the reconstruction of electrical installations, the restoration of the necessary infrastructure, the progress of work on the implementation of the decisions taken at the previous meeting and on future plans.
Another report on the connection and information exchange with the Karabakh Digital Geographic Information System of the State Committee on Property Matters under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan was also discussed.
The importance of regularly updating the relevant information, which will be fed into the system by the relevant state structures that are members of the working group, was underlined.
Parties to the meeting also exchanged views on other topical issues as part of the work of the working group.
The coordination headquarters, created by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on November 24, 2020, is headed by the head of the presidential administration Samir Nureyev.
